Figs with Wine and Honey
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
500 g figs
500 ml red wine
100 g brown sugar
30 g turmeric and ginger honey
1 cinnamon stick
3 garlic cloves
Pour red wine in a saucepan. Add in brown sugar, honey, cinnamon stick, and garlic cloves.
Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat and add in figs.
Cook for 5 to 7 minutes over medium-low heat. Take out the figs and place them on a serving plate.
Continue cooking the wine mixture for an additional 15 minutes.
In the meantime, cut figs into 4 equal parts. Place them into a large serving dish and drizzle with red wine-honey syrup. Let it cool and refrigerate for 2 hours.
- Serve with toasted bread slices and more honey.
